Romeo
y Julieta Cigars
Romeo
y Julieta is a well known and popular brand of Cuban Cigars. Founded
in 1875 by Mannin Garcia and Inocencio Alvarez this brand immediately
started earning it's prestige along with Gold Medals in four different
universal expositions between 1875 and 1900.
In
1903 the Romeo y Julieta cigar company was acquired by Jose Rodriguez
Fernandez, who was also known as Pepin.
Named
for the lovers that were doomed by fate in Shakespeare's tragedy
these fine cigars are anything but a tragedy.
Credited with introducing the "Churchill" shapedcigar in tribute to Winston Churchill Fernandez promoted the brand until his death in 1954 at the ripe old age of 88.
